“WAKE UP/SLEEP” FUNCTION
This feature allows the stud to stay in "sleep" mode before the road application, extending the autonomy of the battery, which can be very useful during installation delays or storage. Once active ('wake up' mode) roads studs can be setting in 'sleeping' mode during a time, for example, in case of roadworks.
AUTOMATIC BRIGHTNESS CONTROL
The function allows the i-stud to adapt to the brightness and regulate its light level in accordance with the energy charged during the day. In the period of night when the studs are active, the automatic brightness control manages the energy stored, adapts the brightness and adjusts the lighting level according to the energy charged.
All i-studs evolution can have their brightness level manually adjusted from 0 to 100%.
WORKING PERIOD FUNCTION
The feature allows the user to set up the number of hours that the i-stud should work after night detection, in situations where roads studs do not have to operate all night long. This means that studs can conserve energy for times when they do need to be active.
OPERATION MODE FLASH/ALWAYS ON
With the operation mode function the user can easily switch the stud’s mode from ‘flashing’ to ‘always on’ and vice versa after installation, whereas conventional studs would all have to be replaced.
To take full advantage of the road stud’s performance, the flash rate can be modified after installation and adjusted appropriately to provide a more effective warning to drivers.
NIGHT LEVEL DETECTION
The lighting level detection (Lux) can easily be adjusted to avoid the studs not become operational at night due to bright streetlighting nearby.
OPERATION MODE UNIDIRECTIONAL / BIDIRECTIONAL
With this ability to choose between ‘unidirectional’ and ‘bidirectional’ operating mode, the light direction can be modified without needing to replace the existing studs, either temporarily or permanently. Also, the stud is able to be programmed according to each project, which removes the need to keep a stockpile of different studs.
This function can help to prevent road accidents during ice formation conditions. Through a temperature sensor, the i-stud can detect when there is the possibility of ice forming on roads, and then, change its LEDs colours to warn drivers about the risky weather condition.
With this feature, if a problem with the stud is detected, the unit is able to make an internal log and analyse the most relevant values in order to recognise what the causes of its abnormal operating are. This helps to solve the problems in a faster and more effective way.
